POWER OF INSPIRATION

The power of inspiration works like a small ripple in endless waters. Regardless of how tiny the ripple, the effects last continuously reaching far beyond its initial motion. This is how I view attitude and our thought process. Every moment, we have the ability to inspire. Its whether we chose to use it toward progression or digression.

It is taught through our Indigenous cultures that “our essence touches everyone...whether we realize it or not” I think about this everyday and from the moment I wake up, see its power in how I speak, think, and feel. My mom use to tell me “be careful with your attitude” I came to understand that my strongest convictions of thought and beliefs are emulated through my attitude and actions. It’s a powerful enlightenment when you realize that your effort to be a light, automatically shines. Whether you know it or not.

In all my travels, I aspire our youth to reach that same thought. We continually feed them the ideas of cultural integrity. But in my experiences of training, I see our young people eagerly searching for ways to achieve goodness and pride. This is what I tell them:

Don’t talk about it. Be about it. Your greatness, your pride, for yourself, your family, does not stem from what or how you say it, but what you DO to show it. This is an old teaching from our people. Inspiration, and pride derives from not what you wear, or what you look like, or what you read. Its in your actions, thought process, how you speak, eat, act, react and how you treat one another. It’s the most powerful thing you can do for your people.

When I hear a crowd of 2,000 Indigenous young people create that sense of inspiration for themselves, I begin to understand that the power to inspire is the greatest gift we all have to uplift our nations. Whether it be a smile, a friendly hello to someone in your community, or helping yourself to do better, its in these very moments we become the virtue of inspiration.

I am a product of inspiration. From what I eat, how I speak to people, how many minutes I choose to excerise, from random hellos to unkown people, to choosing to eat carrots instead of a donut. Through my travels, and in my work, I chose this for myself because I recognize that If I love myself, who I am, where I come from, and my beliefs…I will SHOW it everyday.

I appreciate your time spent reading my thoughts….

May you use your energy to inspire!!!

Look forward to seeing you soon,
LeAndra

Preparing for Fall

As the year prepares for another season change, I take this time to recognize what an incredible season it has been. The summer is the time where young people are at their most energized, and I’ve spent much time traveling throughout the country enjoying their presence. Youth advocacy is my passion. I’ve spent countless hours on the development of training material which allows them to gain meaningful progress in their own communities.

As the fall season approaches, I’ve dedicated focus on academic success and student retention . These trainings allow youth to empower themselves to begin, maintain, and conclude this school year with an abundance of greatness. In addition, leadership training has been developed to encourage positive relationships within social circles, and how to radiate Native Pride through maintaining success in school.

I’ve logged many miles this summer. And I am grateful for every moment. I was once told, “always radiate goodness when you are in the service of your people” This teaching I carry, is as important as my breath. Indeed, it motivates me to maintain a level of energy to inspire our young leaders.

I appreciate all the good thoughts and words I receive throughout Indian Country. Your sincerity is very much valued. Also, thank you to each of you for visiting www.leandrabitsie.com My thoughts I share on this blog , serve as a tool to interact with you directly. Please feel welcomed to submit comments and questions. I’m here for you.

Continue to use your greatness to empower your world. This small action is one of the most powerful steps, to support the progression of our nations.

See you soon!

About me

My people are the heart of my work. My greatest happiness comes from spreading the message of empowerment, and leadership. I take hold the very essence of our people’s positive energy and motivation to instill hope and vision into the potential and future of our existence.

This is what the Creator handed me.

I love what I do. I love what I was blessed to become. Many years have passed with this same thought. Like many others, I wish only for the best. But there is a difference between a wish and action. I believe everything in my young life has been a result of my ability to recognize opportunity. By embracing opportunity, I embrace action. I realized then to stop looking for the right moment. That moment is right NOW.

Work hard with relentless pride.

When I was very young, I began writing thoughts down on paper. Listening, learning, and sharing words of wisdom from the teachers of our people. I was told back then; Indian people are writers of their own history. I now use this teaching to reach our communities on various levels of development. It is through this simple yet profound teaching I have committed to be unique and exceptional in my skill. To master my thoughts and conceptualize them into segments of training so they may serve as learning tools for others.

Everyday, I live to be an inspirer for my people. I live to lead my people. And I wish the same for you….

These are chronicles from my travels.
